Volunteers

If you are interested in volunteering for the 2014 Hagg Lake Mud Runs, please fill out this form and we will be in touch with you in December 2013.

Volunteers are the key to the Hagg Lake Mud Runs. All four of the race directors are volunteers and every bit of trail work, day-of coordination, and post-race wrap up is done by volunteers. We literally could not do it without volunteers.

To recognize the importance of volunteers, we have two programs that you can do to save $ on your registration:

1. Volunteer at set-up and check-in the day of your race. This is a 2 hour commitment and you will be "free" a half hour before the race start.

2. We would like to offer up to 20 runners or volunteers the opportunity to have their entry fees refunded for the 2014 race OR to receive a free entry to the 2015 race. See the “Runner Volunteers” section below. Note you must still register and then if you qualify for the “Runner Volunteer” option you will be refunded.

Volunteer tasks include set up, registration, kitchen, aid station, course marshal/rover, finish line, sweeper, tear down, awards, and parking. All volunteers receive the a race shirt, a pair of Hagg Lake socks and $5 in ORRC bucks, plus volunteers are invited to join participants at the finish after their shift to eat the great food we provide!

Runner Volunteers:

Up to 20 runners or volunteers providing a total of 12 volunteer hours will receive free entry to 2015 or a full refund of their 2014 registration.

If you’d like to claim one of these spots, email us at hagglakemud@gmail.com with “runner volunteers” in the subject line.

NEW THIS YEAR! Volunteers at the 2014 event can count their own hours towards a free entry to the 2013 event! Remember, we only reserve 20 spots for this program so sign up early if you are interested! One way to do it would be get two friends plus yourself to work a four-hour shift in 2013 ... presto, free race entry in 2014! (As long as you sign up early enough to claim a spot!)

Your volunteers must show up at the event at the assigned time and work their full shift. They will check in and out so we can give you credit for their work. They will also receive their ORRC bucks which can be used for race registrations or ORRC membership or merchandise. After the event, we will contact you and you can tell us if you would like a refund for the 2013 registration or a free entry to the 2014 event.
